Day
2 :
Aourir-Lmzar-Sidi
Toual (20 kms by camel) After breakfast, you will be taken
by car to the departure point by camel. The 'real' journey
will now begin. You will be introduced to camel riding,
putting on turbans to protect from the sun and wind, and
will wear gandouras to be completely at ease. The days'
trip is around 20 kms through a nature park, a eucalyptus
forest and the ancient Lmzar dunes. You will see how the
desert is encroaching when you spot old buried argan tree
roots. You will stop for a picnic under the shade of the
eucalyptus trees. After a short rest to take advantage of
the spot, you will continue on to Sidi Toual where you will
set up camp, prepare dinner and spend the evening under
the stars.

wild, deserted beaches. Depending on the season, you may meet
large troops of camels and nomads. Lunch on the beach on the
way, followed by a stop for a swim in the ocean. You will

Day
4 :
Tifnit-Douira
(16 km by camel) You will be woken at sunrise to watch the
magic of the sun rising over the ocean. After breakfast,
the group will set off over long arid stretches to Douira
discovering on the way several colonies of Bald Ibis (in
groups of 40) which nest in the cliffs overhanging the sea.
You will appreciate the visit even more when your guide
explains that this is the last natural colony of Bald Ibis
in the world, a protected species not to be found elsewhere.
Upon arrival at Douira, you will see the fishermen's small
caves dug into the cliffs, and walk along the beach where
you have a good chance of finding large pieces of ostrich
eggshells, remains of a species which populated the region
some years ago. Camp will be set up, dinner prepared and
you will spend the night under canvas.

Day
5 :
Douira-Sidi
Rbat (16 km by camel) You will follow a magnificent, wild
and unspoilt beach and stop for a swim and later on for lunch.
Legend tells that Oqba Ben Nafi, a great arab conqueror of
the 7th century, forced his horse into the waves, thus showing
that he would pursue his conquest in the name of the Prophet
to the ends of the earth. Certain Koranic chants telling of
his exploits can still be heard from the sand-covered Mosque.
You will spend the night at Sidi Rbat, setting up camp in
time to admire the magnificent sunset on the beach and to
enjoy the last evening together.
